Listing

Admission of securities to trading on the stock exchange or over-the-counter trading system and implementation of preliminary and subsequent control over the compliance of securities and their issuers with the conditions and requirements established in the rules of the exchange or other trade organizer.
Issuers independently decide on the practicality of listing their securities. Following the Law of Ukraine "On Joint-Stock Companies" from September 17, 2008, public joint-stock companies are obliged to undergo the procedure of including shares in the stock exchange list at least on one stock exchange.
According to the head of the State Securities Commission S. Petrashka, most of the existing public joint-stock companies do not meet the strict requirements of a listing. To solve this problem, it is planned to introduce a third level of listing, which will be more accessible for such companies. The third level of listing existed in Ukraine until 2007, when it was canceled by the regulator's decision. As a result, as of October 2007, 89.9% of Ukrainian issuers' shares, mainly those previously quoted on the third level of the PFTS, were not listed. 681 securities became unlisted, including 313 shares of fund issuers[Listing].
