Distributor

A person or organization that supplies goods to shops and companies [Cambridge Dictionary].
An independent person or legal entity that sells goods locally on behalf of a principal. Distributors can be distinguished from agents, as distributors buy the goods in their name, then re-sell them at prices they have some liberty to set. Distributorship is frequently based on a contract that grants the distributor exclusivity for a specific territory. Some main clauses of this type of contract are products and territory, exclusivity, non-competition, prices, delivery and payment conditions, promotional activities, services, etc. In international markets, distributors' and providers' relationships are governed through an International Distribution Contract [Dictionary of International Trade].
The word “distribution” has several meanings in the financial world, most of them about the payment of assets from a fund, account, or individual security to an investor or beneficiary. Retirement account distributions are among the most common and are required after the account holder reaches a certain age. A distribution also refers to a company's or a mutual fund's payment of stock, cash, and other payouts to its shareholders. Distributions come from many financial products. However, whatever the source, the distribution payment usually goes directly to the beneficiary electronically or by check. A deed of distribution legally transfers property when the rightful receiver can't be determined from the descendant's will [Investopedia].
