Digital (data/electronic) archive

A digital archive (also called a data or electronic archive) usually is an information system whose purpose is to store different digital resources and make them accessible to a particular group of people. Archives serve to keep media and information holders, but first of all, uniquely conserved documents and to conserve them for the future. Digital archives involve all types of digital collections, for example, music and video archives. Digital archives conduct the same task as digital resources or libraries [TheCustomizeWindows].
A digital archive is a place to safeguard digital information involving files, invoices, deeds, and other documents. As opposed to an analog archive which is non-electronic, both the archived data and the storage location are electronic by their nature.
Digital archiving is to store digital data that is not required currently but is still significant. Commercial and tax law stipulates determined holding periods for relevant documents in Germany. Relevant information is protected for the long term while the active systems are relieved and work processes remain lean. The information in the archive is available without time limits [EasySoftware].
A digital archive is an elaborate collection with a multi-tiered storage system located on a hard drive, CDs, and other carriers, or it also can frequently be found on the World Wide Web [Falcon].
