Hypertext
Hypertext is viewed as a system for linking related text documents that allow the participation of multiple users [Stigliano]. It represents a new, non-linear form of writing and reading in which readers are engaged as active creators of meaning [Chartier]. Hypertext is very intertextual as not only are websites linked together by portions of text on each page, the information on the pages is expected to conform and agree with the information on other pages [Bolin]. Hypertext is also viewed as a set of messages that are united by a standard topic and differ in a source and time of allocating on the Web, with transitions from one message to another being supported technically. Furthermore, it integrates various media links, such as sites, television channels, radio broadcasts, and social networks. Therefore, it is also considered a method of non-linear presentation of information on web pages linked by reciprocal links into a single text [Энциклопедия Интернет-маркетинга].
Hypertext can be static (prepared and stored in advance) or dynamic (continually changing in response to user input).
