Resistor
The resistor can be defined by it's main purpose, a device to control or limit the flow of current, hence we can say that the main parameter of a resistor is it's resistance, which is measured in Ohm's.
The resistor is a passive electrical component to create resistance in the flow of electric current. In almost all electrical networks and electronic circuits they can be found. The resistance is measured in ohms.
A resistor is a passive electrical component with the primary
function to limit the flow of electric current.
Electrical resistivity is a measure of a material’s property to opposethe flow of electric current. This is expressed in Ohm-meters (Ω⋅m).
The symbol of resistivity is usually the Greek letter ρ (rho). A highresistivity means that amaterial does not conduct wellelectriccharge.
