Communicative role

Communicative role is the socio-linguistic concept that reflects the image an individual situationally creates in the eyes of their society to accomplish their communicative goals. [1, 32-33] For example, if Bob protects Alice by telling her to run away while he engages in a battle with Darth [2, 317], Bob accomplishes the communicative move to save Alice and embraces the communicative role of defender. These roles can be seen throughout any act of communication (or lack thereof) and reflect the typical archetypes of the human psyche. Notably, communicative roles may be wired in the human brain through the collective unconscious and be present in every culture across all of history. The common archetypal communicative roles are: defender, conqueror, care-taker, teacher, student, leader, etc.
