The Adverbial Modifier

The Adverbial modifier is the secondary part of a sentence which modifies the verbal predicate denoting either external relations (of time, place, reason, purpose, etc.) or inner qualities of the actions and processes (manner, degree) [Kirvalidze, 61].
Adverbial modifiers tell us about
the conditions under which an action or process takes place, or the way in which a certain state persists [Muller, 40].
There are nine types of adverbial modifiers:
1. The Adverbial modifier of time.
2. The Adverbial modifier of condition.
3. The Adverbial modifier of place.
4. The Adverbial modifier of manner.
5. The Adverbial modifier of cause.
6. The Adverbial modifier of the result.
7. The Adverbial modifier purpose.
8. The Adverbial modifier of concession.
9. The Adverbial modifier of comparison [3].
