Numerals in English are the part of a language that determines the number or order of objects. There are simple numerals, derivatives and compound numerals
The categorical value of numerals is a number. There are two parallel sets of numerals: cardinals answering the question "How many?" (two, four, sixteen) and ordinal, answering the question "Which one?" and serving to organize the entities (first, second, fifth)[1].
Numerals are most often used in the role:
1. Attribute
2. Subject
3. Object
4. Predicative (by verb-link) [Kirvalidze, 28]
There are four main classes of numerals:
1. Cardinal numerals (numbers from one to one hundred).
2. Ordinal numerals (first, second, third).
3. Fractions (one-fifth, two-thirds, a quarter).
4. Decimal fractions (zero-point-two, ninety-nine-point-nine-nine) [4].
