Adaptive coping training

Adaptive coping training is a therapeutic and psychoeducational intervention designed to develop, practice, and reinforce constructive strategies for managing stress, regulating emotions, and addressing life challenges. It focuses on replacing maladaptive responses with adaptive behavioral patterns to enhance resilience, cognitive flexibility, and effective functioning. In clinical psychology and counseling, it serves as a component of interventions such as cognitive‑behavioral therapy to strengthen problem‑solving and emotional regulation skills. In occupational health, it is applied to prevent burnout among employees in high‑stress environments, and in rehabilitation programs to support recovery from psychological trauma (Pearman et al., 2020; Ruotsalainen et al., 2015).
