Digital accessibility
This is a multi-tiered system of social, technological, instrumental, and informational resources mobilized by local collectives to foster digital inclusion and aid individual and collective recovery from social exclusion during technological advancement (Kirkpatrick et al., 2025).
Digital accessibility operates through the mechanisms of social cohesion, universal design frameworks, and community-based digital resilience. (Henry, 2026).
In modern frameworks of digital equality, digital accessibility serves as a foundational layer of mental health, psychosocial, and physical support, buffering against functional barriers, discrimination, and social alienation. (United Nations General Assembly, 2006).
