Acceptance of change therapy

Acceptance of change therapy is a multi-tiered evidence-based framework designed to enhance psychological flexibility by fostering mindfulness and non-judgmental openness to inevitable life transitions (Dindo et al., 2017). It operates through the core mechanisms of cognitive defusion, present-moment awareness, and value-directed behavioral activation during severe socio-cultural shifts (Shields et al., 2021). In modern frameworks of emergency response, community support serves as a foundational layer of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), buffering against depression and social alienation (O'Connor & Johnstone, 2024).
