Сombat-related trauma
Сombat-related trauma is an acute or chronic psychopathological condition that develops as a result of exposure to extreme stressors in a combat environment . The trauma is rooted in the breakdown of an individual's psychological defense mechanisms caused by direct threats to life, exposure to violence, and witnessing death or severe injury. Сombat-related trauma is often referred to as war trauma or combat stress and may be associated with the development of acute stress reactions and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) . The condition can affect emotional regulation, cognitive functioning, behavior, and social adaptation, often resulting in long-term psychological consequences for military personnel .
