Universal Design for Learning

Universal Design for Learning is defined as a scientifically valid framework for guiding educational practice that provides flexibility in the ways information is presented, in the ways students respond or demonstrate knowledge and skills, and in the ways students are engaged. Hypotheses regarding its effectiveness are based on modern brain research and learner variability, establishing that no two brains are alike. Universal Design for Learning is characterized by eliminating environmental barriers rather than fixing the learner, ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities to learn and thrive.
