Internal resources

Internal resources are personal strengths, values, self-regulation mechanisms, coping abilities and psychological capacities that help individuals maintain well-being and effectively adapt to adverse circumstances. Internal resources are considered essential components of psychological resilience and successful functioning.
Research indicates that internal resources contribute to life satisfaction, self-determination and the ability to cope with stress. They play an important role in promoting mental health and enhancing personal growth. Psychological and social resources enable individuals to adapt to challenges and maintain effective functioning under stressful conditions.
