Motivational therapy

Motivational therapy is a short-term technique used in the treatment of alcohol and substance use disorders. This approach to treatment focuses on helping people to feel more motivated to change their destructive, harmful behavior.
Methods:
а) Client-Centered Approach: Focus on the client’s individual abilities rather than their condition or issues.
b) Enhancing Motivation for Change: Working on developing the client’s internal drive for positive transformation.
c) Integration of Related Therapy Issues: Addressing additional aspects connected to motivation to strengthen the therapy outcome.
