Postponed life syndrome
Postponed life syndrome is a set of unconscious beliefs that perceive today’s life not as real but as an anticipation of something bigger. A person living in such a scenario often genuinely believes that they’re not living their real life, but preparing for it. It’s not an illness, not a mental or psychological diagnosis, but a mindset in which a person tries to prepare for life in advance. However, this ‘life’ never comes. The person makes plans, but they never materialize, leading them to feel their own unrealized potential.
Delayed life syndrome is more common among young people and middle-aged individuals, between 20 and 40 years old.
It’s important to note that overcoming Postponed Life Syndrome is a process that takes time and effort. You have to be patient with yourself, and remember that progress, not perfection, is the goal. By taking steps towards your goals and prioritizing self-care and personal growth, you can start living a more fulfilling life.
