Emotional lability
Emotional lability refers to rapid, often exaggerated changes in mood, where strong emotions or feelings (uncontrollable laughing or crying, or heightened irritability or temper) occur. Emotional lability may present in several ways, such as intense laughing or crying that may occur either at inappropriate times or that may be excessive for the present situation. For example, when something positive happens, a person with emotional lability may cry or feel angry.
