Emotional disorders
Emotional disorders – a group of mental health conditions that primarily affect a person’s mood, emotions, and ability to cope with daily life. These disorders can lead to excessive feelings of sadness, anxiety, or distress and can interfere with relationships, work, and overall well-being.
Emotional disorders include:
1. Depressive disorders, which encompass a wide range of conditions
2. Bipolar disorder, which can include various types, such as bipolar I bipolar II, and cyclothymi.
3. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), which involves severe emotional symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
4. Emotional disorders come in various forms, each with its unique set of challenges and manifestations. Let’s dive into the murky waters of these conditions, shedding light on their complexities.
Behavioral changes are often the most noticeable red flags. A once outgoing individual might suddenly become withdrawn, or a typically calm person may exhibit uncharacteristic outbursts of anger. Cognitive symptoms can be equally disruptive. Racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating, or persistent negative self-talk are common experiences. It’s like having a radio in your head that you can’t turn off, constantly broadcasting pessimistic messages.
