Mood disorders
Definition:
Mood disorders refer to a category of mental health conditions that primarily affect an individual’s emotional state. They are characterized by periods of intense sadness, excessive happiness, or fluctuations between the two. The most common mood disorders include depression, bipolar disorder, and dysthymia. These disorders impact daily life and functioning, often requiring psychological or medical intervention.
