2. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is unwanted noise or interference in an electrical path or circuit caused by an electromagnetic field (EMF) from an outside source.
Also known as radio frequency interference, EMI can adversely impact electronics, causing them to operate poorly, malfunction, or stop working completely.
EMI is primarily caused by natural or human-made sources, but high-quality electronic, electrical shielding, and modern error correction can reduce its impact.
3. An electromagnetic disturbance that interrupts, obstructs, or otherwise degrades or limits the effective performance of electronics/electrical equipment.
