RTGS

1.RTGS full form is “Real-Time Gross Settlement,” and it is a specialized electronic funds transfer system used by banks and financial institutions for high-value and time-sensitive transactions. In an RTGS system, funds are transferred from one bank to another in real-time, meaning the transaction is processed immediately, typically within seconds or minutes. The term “gross” in RTGS signifies that each transaction is settled individually and in full, without netting or offsetting against other transactions. This ensures that the funds are transferred securely and without any dependence on other transactions, minimizing counterparty risk. Real-time gross settlement systems are often operated and overseen by central banks or financial authorities to ensure the stability and integrity of the financial system.
2.The RTGS term (real-time gross settlement) refers to a funds transfer system that allows for the instantaneous transfer of money and/or securities. RTGS is the continuous process of settling payments on an individual order basis without netting debits with credits across the books of a central bank. Once completed, real-time gross settlement payments are final and irrevocable. In most countries, the systems are managed and run by their central banks.
3.Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) is a system for electronic payments between two banks, where the transactions process and settle in real time rather than being batched. By processing transactions without batching, transactions are able to process and settle, as the name suggests, in real-time.
