Documentation fee is a fee applied at origin and/or destination to offset rising staffing, training, equipment and information systems costs relating to increased volume and complexity of documentation. (Deringer)
A document fee, sometimes called a doc fee or a documentation fee, is something that dealerships will charge you for certain checks they carry out on your paperwork during the buying process.
