Restricted fire area

An area in which specific restrictions are imposed and into which fires that exceed those restrictions may not be delivered without prior coordination with the establishing headquarters [Балабін, Гардера, с. 167].
A restrictive fire area (RFA) is an area with specific restrictions in which fires that exceed those restrictions will not be delivered without coordination with the establishing HQ. A battalion or higher HQ establishes it. Occasionally, it may be established by a company operating independently [Globalsecurity.org].
