Retreat

A retreat draws the attention and forces of an enemy from the point of the principal operation; an attack, alarm, or feint that diverts attention. A change made in a prescribed route for operational or tactical reasons. A diversion order will not constitute a change of destination. Rerouting cargo or passengers to a new transshipment point or destination or on a different mode of transportation before arrival at the ultimate destination. In naval mine warfare, a route or channel bypasses a dangerous area. A diversion may connect one channel to another or branch from a channel and rejoin it on the other side of the danger [Department of Defense Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms, p.136].
Also, evacuation is moving any wounded, injured, or ill person to and between medical treatment facilities [Department of Defense Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms, p.153].

A retreat is a tactical, operational, or strategic maneuver during war warfare. Forced or planned abandonment of occupied positions and the withdrawal of troops to new positions deep into one's own or hostile territory. It represents a principled move and maneuvering to create a new group of troops and assets for subsequent military operations. The goal is to take a military group out from under enemy attack, concentrate troops, reinforce a favorable defensive position, or lure the enemy into a strike [Nina].
