Officer

An officer is a person of command and command in the armed forces, in the navy, and in other power structures, which mainly denotes a military rank (rank). In the Ukrainian language at the beginning of the 20th century, after the formation of national Ukrainian military formations, the term "senior" was used. After the final occupation of Ukraine in 1921, the term "elder" continued to be used among the emigrant community. On the territory of the Ukrainian SSR, in the ranks of the Red Army, there were no personal military ranks, so the command structure was called "red commander." The term "officer" appeared again in 1942. [Бажан М. p. 720]
An officer is a person who has a position of authority in a hierarchical organization. The term derives from Old French oficier "officer, official" (early 14c., Modern French officier), from Medieval Latin officiarius "an officer," from Latin officium "a service, a duty" the late Latin from officiarius, meaning "official."
