Unguided missile

An unguided missile is a type of aviation means of destruction. After launch, the rocket makes an uncontrolled flight. In the literature, you can find the outdated designation of air missiles as NURS (from Russian: НеУправляемый Реактивный Снаряд), but this abbreviation has a wider meaning and is used for both air-based and ground-based missiles.[Jason N.]
For the first time in the world, NARs were used in battle on August 20, 1939: pilots of the USSR Air Force of Captain N. Zvonarev's group fired RS-82 missiles at Japanese aircraft in the conflict on the Khalkhin-Gol River. During World War II, the Russian Air Force used the Air Force of Germany, the USA, and the USSR against ground and air targets. Currently, helicopters are also armed with NARs. Compared to cannon weapons, NARs have a long aiming range, but still have too much dispersion at long ranges. So, for example, the accuracy of the S-8 NAR when launched at the maximum range is about 3 thousandths of the range.[Maslov M.]
